Have you ever been close to the end of a goal and the closer you get to it, the further away it seemed? Have you ever felt like as you approach the finish line, you just get weary? Have you ever felt so drained that it seems like you have nothing left to give?
So here is the one question you need to ask yourself today. It’s only one word and while it can be simplistic, it can at times be a very hard question to ask. The one question that you should ask yourself today is:
It is only 3 letters long and one word, but it is the question most never think to answer when times get tough. Whoever you are trying to be, whatever you are going through, however, you feel right now, where ever you think you should be and when you feel like you have nothing left to give, just ask yourself WHY?
See many people go through life like there is an exact equation to being successful. However, we are not to blame for this misconception. As small children we are taught:
“treat others the way you want to be treated,”
“good things come to those who wait,”
and “what goes around, comes around.”
Unfortunately, when you are nice to people, they are not always nice back. Does this have anything to do with you? Honestly, almost 99% of the time, someone else’s foul attitude has nothing to do with you. As far as doing good in order for good to come your way, yeah that is not always true either. Just because you do good and put positive vibes into the atmosphere does not guarantee good to be reciprocated. Sometimes you cannot wait for good to happen, just because you have done a few good deeds. You should do good because it’s innate and not because you are looking for a reward.
Lastly, yes life is cyclical. But that does not mean you will be around or always get the benefits of what doing right entails. So “what goes around comes around,” might not always come when you expect or want it to.
The harsh reality is THAT IS LIFE. Things will not always go according to plan and when you are down in the dumps just ask yourself:
When you can answer why, my friend, write it down and continue your journey. When you have the answers to your why in writing, keep it somewhere close to you. Because just when you feel like you are going to burst or have a meltdown, your reason for what you are going through is right there.
So hang in there. In life, there will always be a constant struggle or obstacle, but knowing your why can give you that extra push you need to keep going. The one saying they did get right, is that you cannot have the sunshine without rain. Keep doing what you are doing and continue to push yourself forward because it is when we feel empty and at our lowest, that everything we worked for and more is just around the corner.
